DIY Starburst Paper Wreath Tutorial

Wow, is it Tuesday already?

I feel like the last two weeks or so has been a blur since the hurricane.

I have been a little slow getting back into the swing of things,

but....happy to be back creating.

 

I wanted to share with you one of my

NEW

favorite diy projects,

this Starburst Paper Wreath.

 

I have been in love with paper wreaths for a while now.

I just adore the layers & folds and the texture.

I have seen them done a few different ways but I liked the accordion style the best.

I kinda winged it but

I have to say this is SUPER easy,

it just takes a little time.

 

Here are the steps below that I used to make mine.

So if you find an hour or so,

grab a cup of coffee or glass of wine:),

put on some music

&

CREATE away:).

You could even do a

girls craft night with this project.

 

 

 

 & glue gun!

I did antique the sides of the book with some

slightly watered down Raw Umber.

But I also did it on the ends too to give it

more dimension(see step 7).

 Fold papers long ways.

 Flip wreath over so the back is facing up, like this.

Tip-when layering & gluing the folded paper also glue where

the fold meets, this will give you more control.

 Flip back so top is up.

Be sure to bend the paper.

  This is the inside layer,

glue & bend forward.

 This is for the last layer,

fold accordion style the short way & fold together like before.

Again, glue & bend back.

I actually took the Distress Ink

& antiqued sections at a time when the wreath was complete.

 Ta-da
