Anchored- Bath Design

I finished my half bath!

It’s been hanging over my head since we moved in over a year ago. It’s a space I know our guests will usually visit before they leave yet it took me this long to decorate it.


I am sure some of you can sympathize. You move into a home & there are a million things to do, literally! And you are juggling a million things to begin with so……sometimes these things take time:).


Honestly, it’s that & also the fact that I like to be inspired by something before I dive into a project & sometimes that takes time too. Our running theme in our home is “coastal living”; we live near the water and are at the beach every chance we get, even in the winter (the best time.) I never want my home to feel themed, so I take my time and wait until inspiration hits to create a space that feels organic and hopefully that shows.


I have always been drawn to anchors, partly because I have grown up near the water but also in part because of the idea; to anchor to something, to connect to something,someone. The idea that we, my family is anchored to each other & what we believe in and that when life gets hard & bumpy, crazy & chaotic, we have one another to fasten to.


So there it came, the idea. This is what followed……

 Paint color- Restoration Hardware Silver Sage

I recycled a frame that had no glass insert, I used spray paint, burlap & some starfish.

A found piece of driftwood became our towel holder.

 

 "A shell in my pocket & sand in my toes."

 Painting -I recycled an old canvas & used crisp gloss white with my new favorite color-Ben's Texas Leather.

 A simple O monogram.
