Another huge thank you to Andrea from Keeping It Cozy for

I thought I would share  a little more about my mantle
that was featured in the
&
reveal my
Recycled Christmas Project #6-
DIY Rustic Palette Board Chalkboard.
And I mean RUSTIC!
I apologize in advance for not giving you more pictures
 but that was the week
my camera broke:(.

This year I went for simple, rustic and meaningful.
I have ALWAYS loved this movie & this saying.
In just a few simple words it says it ALL.
I feel SO blessed to have my beautiful boys,
my kind & handsome husband
and the most incredible family & friends a girl could ask for.
Each and every day with them is a GIFT.
And although my life is far from perfect,
 it is indeed WONDERFUL:)!

 Ok, now onto the
HOW TO
I had an old palette board base in my garage
and knew it would be a perfect frame for something.....
So with a simple, NON-electric saw, some nails, a sheet of MDF(had that too)
&
GORILLA GLUE(my new BFF)
came this-
A RUSTIC chalkboard.
I do want to say this....
Use an electric handsaw:)!!!!
The wood is aged & tough to get through.
The wood was a little uneven, warped & had some war wounds from when my very handy hubby:)
pulled it from the palette base
but I LOVE how it turned out.
Click HERE for easy instructions for the chalk lettering.
The holiday sheet music was a free download that
I printed on burlap & framed.
The silhouettes I had scanned in my computer
from this simple project
& printed them out on vintage french book pages.
The Starburst Paper Wreath is handmade
& you can find the tutorial HERE.
Stockings were a last minute purchase from Pottery Barn.
I had ordered some simple burlap ones from Etsy but....
they didn't come in time...
long story:(.
But I actually like these better:)!
 And the horn....
that was my mother's & saw EVERY single Christmas in my home growing up.
It is nice to have a special place for it in my home now:).

I will leave you with this.....
Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful!
