Chalk Paint Before & Afters

Everyone is talking about Annie Sloans Chalk Paint,

And those who try it LOVE it.

It's expensive so before I bought it I thought I would try a

DIY chalk paint recipe first.

Make sure you dissolve the plaster of paris in very hot water first,

the first time I rushed & did not follow the directions, it was clumpy.

I made the diy chalk paint in cream and used it to paint a vintage liquor cart

& my dark stained dining room bench. 

 I apologize for not having a better before shot of the bench.

I am sure I am not alone in this,

 but as a mom of a 2 yr old when I miraculously

 get time to do a project like this

I often forget to take the before pics.

Like I said I do have a 2 yr old:).

I did really like the DIY chalk paint(it was a little watery, maybe a tiny bit less H20.)

 However, last night I bit the bullet & bought it.

I have a few big projects & wanted to try it.

I ordered the "French Linen."

It is a beautiful color & I am so excited to try it,

I will definitely keep you posted.
