So last night I was on the phone with my friend who just had her second child in March. This was our first conversation since her little guy came along. She told me how she has been trying to juggle working from home since her son was born. It sounds overwhelming to even think of such a thing but she has a very good job that she wants to keep. Anyways, she says to me out of the blue "you are so lucky, Jen, seriously so lucky, that when your home with Shane you are truly home with Shane." I said "you're right, I am." There are many things that I don't have or go without, but who cares, they are just things. And there are things I have yet to achieve and there will be a time and a place for that. For right now I am exactly where I want to be.
We are tested daily as to what we believe, what we value and who we are. And it is who we are as people, mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, friends, neighbors and even strangers that define us. For when we go, the legacy we will leave behind will be much greater than the sum of our achievements but the lives we have touched and molded and the LOVE we gave.
Last night it was a pouring, big surprise, so Shane & I decided to make a pizza together.
"Enjoy the small things for someday they will be the big things."
An early Happy Mother's Day!
He has gotten so big!!!
