A Purposeful Shop

My husband, my son & I drove out to the North Fork of Long Island on Sunday for Mother’s Day. We were on our way to my husband’s parent’s house. We were enjoying the drive as always, farms, vineyards, open space, old beautiful architecture and quaint historic towns. My son was watching a movie so my husband actually had a chance to catch up and talk (big fan of DVD players on long trips). I was telling him that I wished I had more local creative friendly relationships. So, I on whim said “can you make a left here?” We drove, not quite sure what I was looking for, but then suddenly I said “stop, turn around.”
I found the most amazing shop, White Flower Farmhouse. Completely me in every way, I wanted one of everything. Sometimes you walk into a place and you just know it's special, that was this store. It was warm, cozy and comfortable, a place you want to stay & look at every little detail. Two ladies run it Lori and Megan who are super nice. They have created a nostalgic feel in their shop, which is what I love the most. They have reused, recycled, and repurposed objects into beautiful pieces of art for the home.
Here are some of my favorites.

  1. Thanks so much for your visit and for your comment. You're welcome for tea anytime, although it's a bit a drive! lol

Love this post and the dresser is wonderful. I had a home and gareden boutique in downtown Sayville called Wisteria Lane. I loved it and really miss it and although it was a lot of work, I enjoyed every second of it.

I went to downtown Temecula a historic town here in California and hit a few antique stores, it was slim pickins, but I did find a few treasures, I hope to post them tomorrow...hope you'll stop by and take a look. Hope you're having a great weekend!

    Hugs,
    Karyn
